Most hotels give you a plug and Wi-Fi. A night in our camp in the White Desert gives you silence, billions of stars and a sunrise on white chalk. Here is how it works.
No sockets anywhere on the trip
There is no socket anywhere on the trip. It is just you, a sleeping bag and billions of stars. The silence is deep, and the sunrise on the white chalk is something you will remember.
How the evening goes
- We reach the white chalk formations and watch the sunset.
- We set up the Bedouin camp.
- Dinner of chicken and grilled meat, with Bedouin tea.
- Songs by the fire, then sleep under the stars.
The morning
You wake up to a white horizon. As the sun comes up, the chalk turns orange and red. After breakfast we drive back to your Cairo hotel.
Desert nights are cold, even after a warm day. Bring warm layers, a headlamp and a power bank for your phone.
Get ready
- See the full day-by-day plan in our White Desert guide.
