The experience

We pick you up from your Cairo hotel at 7:00 am and drive to Fayoum, where the day starts at Wadi El Hitan, the Valley of Whales. This UNESCO World Heritage Site holds the fossils of ancient whales, lying in open desert where they were found. Your guide walks you through the site, and you can also visit the Wadi El Hitan fossil museum.

From there we continue to Wadi El Rayan and to the Magic Lake, where water meets the desert in a way you do not expect. In the afternoon we drive into the sand dunes, where our team sets up camp.

The night

Camp is simple and quiet. Dinner is cooked for you, we serve Bedouin tea, and when the light goes the sky fills with stars. There is no city glow here, only dunes and silence. The next morning you wake up to sunrise over the sand, have breakfast and drive back to Cairo.
